THE LAST 16 - ENGLAND

Only Brasil face the same level of media hype and expectation that England does. For a country still dining out on 1966, it has overrpomised and underwhelmed. With fabio Capello, England has spluttered but qualified automatically, but many unwanted distractions and setbacks have marred the way, prompting me toi think that no amount of siege mentality can set the team straight. The Terry imbroglio, Ashley Cole's divorce, Joe Cole unsettled at Chelski, David Beckham's achilles and Fabio's own dealings with the FFA and the Inter speculation caused by the Special One have all created unnecessary fuss.

In short, England are being set up for a big drop. Touted by Lionel Messi and others as finals contenders, England have enough ego onboard to sink an ocean liner and Fabio will have his work cut out to keep everything in order. With Lampard and Cole on the crackberry every 2 seconds seeing if they'll 150,000 pounds or 200,000 with Real, there are too many distractions.

With an over reliance on Rooney, a team that plays over 50 games a season in what is still a kick and rush league compared to the rest of the world, the tournament will prove too much.

After the group stage comes a reality check with Germany and Serbia (although the romantic choice would Australia). If they can surpass their round of 16 opponent, who knows?

  1. They won't do anything

They have a prima madonna coach

They have a team who, except for one being Rooney, are either overrated as a result of the crap league they play in or really could not give a three lions when giving the shirt of the national football team of England

There is more rah rah with this team then what you would find at the mass conducted by an Evangelical Church in Little Rock, Arkansas

They will struggle to get out of their group and if they do they will get knocked in the Round of 16....poonces
